Description
Quercus robur – English Oak A large spreading tree, with a low-branching canopy. New foliage is bright green turning darker and shiny as it matures. Foliage turns brown in autumn. Deeply fissured dark grey bark is also a feature. Acorns appear during the summer months. Stately specimen tree for parks and large gardens. Prefers a cooler climate and is tolerant of most soil conditions. The root systerm can be invasive. TREE CARE: Plant in well drained and well worked soil . Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune to shape if necessary.
